The comprehensive development of quality work has been described in terms of quality steps on a dairy farm. All Valio dairy farms are required to fulfil the quality agreement level described in Quality Steps on a Dairy Farm.
The farms have a Milk Quality Manual that contains the annually updated quality requirements for Valio Group milk and directions for good production practices. In taking the quality agreement on board, the farm undertakes to follow good production practices and their implementation is assured through regular farm evaluations.
The expertise of producers is strengthened by periods of quality training, which also serve to motivate the farm to develop its production methods in accordance with the higher levels of the Quality Steps.
