Helps to control blood pressure

Evolus® helps to control blood pressure and the effect is based on peptides from milk protein.
These bioactive peptides are produced by fermenting milk casein with certain lactic acid bacteria. L. helveticus bacterium splits casein to the ile-pro-pro and val-pro-pro tripeptides that help to control blood pressure. Fermentation is a normal dairy process, and the L. helveticus bacterium is generally used in cheese-making. The effect of Evolus® in helping to control blood pressure has been documented in several clinical trials.

Valio Evolus® fermented milk drink was first launched in Finland in 2000. Evolus® products are at this point available in Finland and Spain. Valio is now licensing the technology and invites applications.

In Finland, Valio Evolus® Double Effect product range was launched in 2008. Valio Evolus® Double Effect products help to control blood pressure and lower cholesterol. The range includes fermented milk, daily dose drinks, yoghurts and a spread.
