EUCOLAIT promotes the commercial interests of the dairy industry in the EU

| The European Association of Dairy Trade (EUCOLAIT) represents around 850 European companies that trade in dairy products. Members include both producers and traders, either as direct members or through other organisations.

EUCOLAIT promotes the interests of the dairy industry within both the EU and international bodies. Those interests focus on trade issues, such as international trade policy, detailed requirements concerning exports and imports, and food legislation.
Valio is a direct member of EUCOLAIT. Veli-Matti Riitamaa, Vice President, Ingredients at Valio Ltd, is an ordinary member of the EUCOLAIT Board of Directors. Riitta Brandt, Vice President, Corporate External Relations, is a deputy member.
EUCOLAIT members meet in product committees for Butter/Butteroil, Milk Powder, Cheese, and Casein. The committees discuss the market situation and changes in legislation, and meet representatives of the EU Commission.
