Valio is one of the largest and most significant food businesses exporting to Russia with an historically strong position in the consumer market. Valio Viola processed cheese is the market leader in its product category, Valio Oltermanni still leads in natural cheeses in terms of price and quality, while Valio Butter won Russia's Brand of the Year award for the fourth time in a row in 2005.
Sales of fresh dairy products are also improving. The key to greater success in Russia is Valio's increasingly close relationships with retail chains and negotiations continue apace. Valio St. Petersburg has a new warehouse in the Moscow area.
